Kishida Fumio (Japanese: Kishida Fumio/きしだふみおKishida Fumio?, July 29, 1957 -) is a politician of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. He is currently the Prime Minister (Prime Minister) of Japan and the president of the Liberal Democratic Party. He is also a member of the party. Chairman of the Hiroike Association, he has served as Minister of Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister in charge of the Cabinet Office, and Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Government Affairs Investigation. He has been elected to the House of Representatives for nine consecutive terms since 1993.

Kishida was born in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, and his ancestral home is Hiroshima Prefecture. He is a member of the House of Representatives elected from the 1st district of Hiroshima Prefecture (9 terms). In March 1997, he visited Taiwan with a group of members led by Shinzo Abe, the youth director of the Liberal Democratic Party. He served as Foreign Minister from 2012 to 2017 and was Japan's second-longest post-war foreign minister, second only to Shigeru Yoshida. He was elected and took office as the president of the Liberal Democratic Party on September 29, 2021, replacing Yoshihide Suga who did not seek re-election. On October 4, 2021, he was officially named the 100th Prime Minister by the Japanese Diet.
